Area-based schemes

If you’re a homeowner and you’re struggling to heat your home, you could be eligible for support from the Scottish Government's area-based schemes to make your home warmer and lower your carbon emissions.

The Scottish Government funds local authorities to develop and deliver energy efficiency programmes (mainly solid wall insulation) in areas with high levels of fuel poverty. These area-based schemes are designed and delivered by councils with local delivery partners. They target fuel-poor areas to provide energy efficiency improvements to a large number of Scottish homes while delivering emission savings and helping reduce fuel poverty.

If you’re eligible, you could receive energy saving improvements to make your home warmer - for example, loft, cavity, internal/external wall or room-in-roof insulation or a home renewables system.
